Looking for Bands, Artists and Fans

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008 by admin

Just recently the Asylum-ET website completed it’s second phase as we added the ability for unsigned bands and artists to register for a free account so they can get started on creating their personal band page as well as publishing their music online. The website offers mp3 audio and flv video players for bands as well as Band Logs or as we refer to them Blogs for each of the bands to embed in their webpage so they may keep their fan base up to date on upcoming events, shows and album releases just to name a few things.

Unlike most labels, here at Asylum-ET, unsolicited demo albums and unsigned bands are most welcome here. If you are an artist or band Join us today. We want to hear your music and I know there are thousands more just like us!

Do you have a favorite local band? Let them know to stop by and sign up for a free account so you can join their online fan club. Fans can sign up here.

birthday fireworks video

Sunday, July 6th, 2008 by admin

This was the first time we have got involved in pyrotechnics in a long time since permits, location and firemen are all needed for a show like that. This time everything fell right into place perfectly. We photographed and filmed the fireworks display and I have put it together into a nice little video for you all to check out. Maybe the next time we do something like this we will have it a little more planned out but this was a pretty spectacular show for a birthday party. The complete show took almost 4 Gigabytes of video and 50 Megabytes in JPEG still images before being edited to fit the time of one audio track.
Editing of the audio, video, images and rendering took close to 4 hours. Hope you enjoy, I know we did but next time I am wearing a hardhat… I got rocked in the head with a spent casing wizzing out of the sky as I stood a few hundred feet below the launch site filming. No worries, luckily it was nothing serious. Gave me a slight headache for a few :) Before I show the video though I must stress that this was done with permits, firemen and proper location. Do not try to do this yourself unless you know what you are doing, hired professionals or whatever it takes to make sure you are safe and have acquired proper permits, etc. I have known professionals who knew what they were doing that have lost body parts or worse due to slight oversight and or slips so now with that said enjoy the video.

Paris Hilton in Jail

Thursday, July 26th, 2007 by admin

OMG so maybe one more. This has got to be the absolute worst video I have seen in 30 years. You know how they say even bad publicity is good publicity. Well this video surely disproves that and then some.

Digital DJs and tools of the trade

Thursday, July 26th, 2007 by admin

Hello everyone. The weekend is coming soon and we will be taking a bit of a vacation. Before we go though I was browsing some videos of dj’s using samplers and so on. After reading a local dj businesses hits on dj’s who don’t use turntables and have other methods of mixing it up I decided it was about time I respond to that. So here is a video of a dj who by the way is just playing around. Boon Doc is his name and you have got to checkout his skillz for yourself now.

The Police are back

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007 by admin

This post was a paid post and all links have been removed from it due to an issue with the advertiser and restrictions that have been applied to posts and since we do not have time to make changes to our site to accommodate the advertiser unless they are paying for prime real estate (Obviously not a blog post) since it will have great effect on our revenues and costs more time and money than it is worth we have made this decision. Just the same we in fact do like the Police so I am leaving my post text in-tact.

The Police are back with a brand new compilation of past to present hits they have released over the years. This band has always been one of my favorites. I remember back in the 80’s the first song I ever heard them play was Message In A Bottle. That was such a great song. It is hard to really say which is my all time favorite because they are all really great but I am looking forward to go grab this police cd as soon as I get paid.

I have yet to hear a song I did not like by the Police so I have no doubt I will be very happy with this one. It is very good to see a band that has been around as long as the Police have and still manage to stay in the game. That is a sign of a true band and powerful performances.

The new police cd cover reminds me a lot of the original The Police album cover and I anticipate the tracks included are just as good if not better than the ones I remember from a past I had almost forgotten. If you are into the Police you should stop over to their website or maybe see about hitting them up at a concert since they are on the road once again.

Calling all unsigned artists and bands

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007 by admin

I have to make this post to make things clear for everyone. MySpace is a kids playground. That may not have been it’s intent but it is not a place for adults to hang out. The mass majority of adults that do hang out there are predators looking for children. Not to say they all are but get real. I was at someones house the other night and I could not help but to notice that the 12 year old girl was talking to someone about things that are far less than appropriate. I took note of the nickname the other person used and looked at there profile later that night. It was a 38 year old man. That is not acceptable.

If you are a band and looking to be heard by the masses MySpace is not your ticket for many reasons. The main reason is this. If you are professional and I hope you are than you should have your own website. You know a yourbandname.com. I don’t even want to hear well that is to expensive. If that is the case you should maybe accept the fact that you are just a garage band and plan to go nowhere.

I do realize bands such as Metallica have a myspace page but first do you even think that they put that there or manage it. I highly doubt that. Just the same if you want to succeed you must show the initiative. Here at Asylum Entertainment we offer a place for bands to upload demo tracks or whole albums even. You can sell your cd, post pictures, event dates or anything you wish related to your band. We even offer very reasonably priced web hosting for bands. You can be up and running with a full website of your own for about $70 a year. That is about the best deal you will find with 24/7 support access you can’t go wrong.

So without going any further than that do the right thing. Ditch the myspace and join us today. We receive thousands of visitors and Asylum-ET has been within the top 100′000 for all web site traffic in the world so do not wait another moment. For a short time we are offering free accounts to bands. This is not an offer for a free website. That will cost just what we have stated above. This offer will allow you to have your demo tracks listed in our main bands page and in the near future will also give you a customizable band page of your own.

We will also sign any band that does not have a current label. This will automatically enter your music to various other music oriented websites as well as protecting the music you have made. As soon as you are signed with us you have no need of worrying about others making money off of your hard work without first paying you royalties. We do not charge for signing. You will never pay us anything for it. We will sell you cd’s and give you the price you ask for. We add $4.00 to your price to cover our costs, ship the cd to the buyer and then either credit your account or pay direct via paypal.

Eminem vs. A Hand puppet?

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007 by admin

I would not normally post something like this but I found it tonight and after watching about 75% of it and almost closing the browser I chuckled a bit. Most of all I am amazed at how easily amused we are with such simple things. Big media takes us for idiots and we answer them by saying “Hell Yea”.

This dog makes a comment about Moby licking himself to Christina Aguilera. That was amusing for a moment anyway. What I just found equally amusing is how smart search engine technology is getting. How many of you use the firefox google search to spell check? I find often while I am writing online if there is a word or name I have an issue with I start to type it in the search bar and the proper spelling and variants start to pop up in the drop down. So I just typed “Christin” and Google knew I was intending to finish it with “a Aguilera” a bit odd but my assumption is that searches for Christina are most commonly lead to information related to the pop star so that is what the first result was. Anyway enjoy the video.

The April Fool

Sunday, April 1st, 2007 by admin

Browsing around the web today I came across the best April fools joke I have seen in a long time. Check this out. Google has got a brand new beta called Google TiSP Everyone must give this one a look and definitely follow the links from the page. You will have a good little chuckle.
Up front for those who believe just about anything, This IS NOT real. It is purely for entertainment purposes.

A long weekend with the show

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007 by admin

Well we are back from our show. Things went without a hitch as usual. The show was a complete success. You have got to love it when you can make everyone dance with no prejudice to age. 80 years old or 8 did not matter. Some of the people attending this weekends show came from as far away as Alaska and Tennessee all of which thoroughly enjoyed their selves. This must be the 10th show we have done for this group in particular and they keep coming back as with many of our other clients so surely I guess we are doing something right :)

After the show things got a bit hectic so we have not made any posts for a few days. Being that we handle all of the maintenance and development of this website and many others we decided it was only right to have a website specifically for that purpose so we have begun with a very strip down version of our php framework and are temporarily using a heavily modified version of SMF to offer boards to discuss hardware or software projects and share your thoughts, ideas, code snips and even offer downloads of some scripts as well as providing information regarding tech support and development services we have to offer. The new site is located at http://www.nutsnbytes.com/
