<description>All this talk lately about page ranking and all I have to tell you I saw the greatest thing the other night. I was at a website unsubscribing my email from their junk mailings, yea I know that probably just submitted me to 100 other companies but that is why I have that account anyway. What I am meaning to tell you is that when I filled out the unsubscribe page with my email this is the address we start at omega.winningdaily.com to find out they have no main page. Key sign for you right there. So anyway we go to the remove link pasted manually in our browser pref.php having removed the arguments in it.

The page has a gpr of 0 and alexa 6,411,433 to be expected. There are little to no publicly available links to this page. Complete the form with your address and submit and you see a page that is here unsub.php?email=youremailhere has a gpr 0 alexa 6,411,433 as well for much the same reason. You only ever get here due to being redirected. It says you have been unsubscribed and you see a link saying Click Here to universally remove yourself from ALL sweepstakes, promotional, and free stuff lists.

You say ok sure why not that is what I expect you to do is stop sending junk. So you click it. You find yourself here now safe.php and would you look at this. The page has a gpr 6 alexa 64,904. That is a huge statement. More people leaving than there are coming :)</description>

<description>We have had a webmasters account with google for some time now and I must say that I don’t want to be misleading to anyone. This may very well not have anything to do with the results we have seen here but since the Webmaster account was created we have seen improvements to our page ranking and over all structure of our site. This is not solely due to the webmasters account but it has definitely given us a good view into what the search engines see, like, dislike and so on. It gives us details such as this which believe it or not is really good information.

Asylum ET&#039;s highest Page Rank for the past three months
Mar http://asylum-et.com/downloads/google-elmer-fudd-seawch/
Feb http://asylum-et.com/downloads/google-elmer-fudd-seawch/
Jan http://asylum-et.com/

With that little tool they offer I can clearly see now what is driving traffic to my site on an overall month-to-month basis. The results shown above are not surprising to me at all. It was a bit of an experiment that proved my theories correct or at least one notch closer anyway. You may find that March and February are odd to be the highest pr for the site but for many reasons it is not. Main reasons. Remember this is all speculation. The words [asylum] ET downloads [google] [Elmer] the ones in brackets being stronger words or heavier as I like to call them.

Well that is ok because asylum is in our name we want that one. Google... well that is in the heaviest words but that is not one we particularly want to broadcast as one of our keywords except that we love google so I mention them many times everywhere. Elmer is a hot keyword. This is where entertainment comes into effect. One more reason these are good keywords for our site. Elmer Fudd is a cartoon character, as we all know that many of us thoroughly enjoy watching. Keep in mind that this is more entertaining to me than most will find it but my entertainment in this is the amount of people that search for the words google Elmer Fudd. Your entertainment in this will more likely be found by doing a search with the

Google Fun Search in the Asylum ET website&#039;s right sidebar almost all the way to the bottom.
The download we offer only has Elmer Fudd style added to it but the one below has a few others such as pig latin and bork. If you perform a search from our site you will be taken to google and you will see that google has the language you selected applied to it. This does not change the language of the text and link results that you get from the query. Although that could be interesting to see you do not want that believe me. That would have to parse each and every result in real time that had not already been cached as that language and rewrite the page that is outputted to you. The amount of time that would take would make you close the browser and go somewhere else for sure.

And now back to the google Webmaster account. You get your Top search queries. These are the things people have typed into google and resulted by either a: someone clicking or b: your site link was displayed in the results. Not sure which but I believe it is if you type asylum-et in google as your query the results you see belong to us for the majority. Each time someone does this query and our results show up it gives the search terms they used &quot;asylum-et&quot; in this case gets a higher average top position. The other theory is less theory now and more fact and that is the more you use the word in your content the more relevant it becomes as a keyword.

That is were the issue comes in with original content. It is very important to have original content. We are able to track our content easily really. We tag it for a starter. If you receive our feed it has a fingerprint embedded in it. This fingerprint is easily searched. By using this fingerprint we have been able to identify content thieves. You may think that is no big deal and some may even feel as though the more places you can find it the better but seriously that could not be any more wrong. Think about this.

Stephen King has a book that he has been writing for over a year now. He has decided that he is going to do it different this time. He has been releasing one chapter per month since he began. These have been released on his website so they are copy written. It is stated that they are copy written. His reasoning for doing this is that his book is much like a mini series that leads into a dramatic full-featured ending. He figures he can get his readers to get so into this by giving them the chapters leading up to it to read and at the end he has a full book for sale as the finale and then you come along and scoop up the content of his pages, throw them on your site with a bunch of advertisements that are semi intelligent enough to offer a user something based on the words in the content. User clicks away. More than likely at that point had not even stopped to read the content that was there or had no idea that it was Stephen king because this crafty website has also changed the output a bit. Ok so to just give you the long and short of it. 75% of the would be readers of the mini series never even see it so the ending resulted book sold to few copies.

If you have unique content keep it that way because the only way it is good for you and your viewers to make sure they find you is that when they go to a search engine they search relevant words and get you. There is no reason for content theft other than pure lack of intelligence and creativity. Content syndication is acceptable and can be good but be careful how you approach it. If you offer feeds for other sites to use then you should limit the output and have a more link as well as tagging it. If you allow full feeds you may just as well give them your username and password and walk away because they have everything your site consists of now and here is the kicker. Remember the list of places with our content being used for their web advertisements in the content theft post? Well if you actually went to any of those sites you begin to notice that not only has someone stole the content but they have used it across multiple domains so now it is stretched out everywhere and loses its relevance and at this point is just a question of do you do something about it or do you struggle to have viewers find you or even worse pay to have viewers find you which does have its place but at the same time I am not talking about trying to make a site have a gpr of 10 and alexa of 1 here I am just talking about a user being able to go to a search engine and type words that are relevant to your site and the user finds you. Ultimately all the page ranking techniques have there flaws and differences in methods of tracking so if a user finds your site in a search and enter it they are not likely to actually close the window because you do not have any pr. Once they arrive that is up to you to have provided them with something worthy of they’re viewing according to how they found you.

The google sitemap is an excellent tool to use. You can upload a sitemap of all the links of everything on your server to google. By doing this you get a real good set of tools. You now get warnings that show up for bad links, missing files, unreachable server and a ton of other things like this. If you know what you are doing or have a website that does you can ping google when you add new files to tell them it is there.

Google also has some very useful software for just about everything. There is no reason to really go anywhere else to get anti-virus software or home image editing and so on. Google has these items in bundles and separately. I personally use the free google pack I offer below. This has everything you can imagine bundled in it to protect your pc and customize it. Google desktop offers the same type of searching that you would find in vista or os x. You can use the toolbar mode, which you can place on any edge of your screen. It is bigger than your taskbar so you have no need to worry about losing one underneath the other. You can add widgits into the toolbar that handle just about everything and it can auto hide so your desk area is not invaded upon. You should really check this out. If you decide you do not want to install a portion of it you have the ability to change what installs. Enjoy.
