tattoo cover up work

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007 by admin

You remember back in your teens how your parents told you not to do something and you went ahead and did it anyway. Well I was 16 and I decided it was cool to get drunk and all that then I gave myself a tattoo which although it came out rather well for a drunken teen it was horrible and what an eyesore to bear for so many years. I do not have any good pictures of it so I wont bother to post any but imagine a black widow that was run over by a mac truck :)

So today I had some cover up work done to it at Walkers in Rutland. Randy Webster is the fellow I had do the work and I have to say I am impressed with it. My skin does not except ink very well but he got the tattoo covered in just under 3 hours. I have 3 images attached of it as it is now. I took them myself and so they are not the best pictures since I could not see what I was getting. More or less I held the camera out in the air and clicked three times. You can see the work fairly well though. The redness will go away in a day or two and then I will post more pictures. Right now the colors are very dark. That will even out over the next few weeks.

Also I can not go without mentioning the price. It was $140 for the original work I had asked for. As he progressed and painted my skin he wanted to get creative and free hand some with his own personal touch. Most at this point would freak out but not I. That is rather what I would expect from an artist. I don’t want the same tattoo thousands of others have so I am all for it. After completing the art work I was charged allot less than originally agreed for the work. The environment was clean and inviting. My 11 year old girl even sat and watched. So I had to give him a tip on top of what I was charged. I could not have it any other way. I am happy and it was less than agreed. If you are looking to have some body art done you should surely go and check these guys out.

These pictures were taken with a Kodac EasyShare Z740 with a 38-380mm All Glass Aspheric Lens at 0 of 10x optical zoom without any filters or effects and very poor lighting.

A long weekend with the show

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007 by admin

Well we are back from our show. Things went without a hitch as usual. The show was a complete success. You have got to love it when you can make everyone dance with no prejudice to age. 80 years old or 8 did not matter. Some of the people attending this weekends show came from as far away as Alaska and Tennessee all of which thoroughly enjoyed their selves. This must be the 10th show we have done for this group in particular and they keep coming back as with many of our other clients so surely I guess we are doing something right :)

After the show things got a bit hectic so we have not made any posts for a few days. Being that we handle all of the maintenance and development of this website and many others we decided it was only right to have a website specifically for that purpose so we have begun with a very strip down version of our php framework and are temporarily using a heavily modified version of SMF to offer boards to discuss hardware or software projects and share your thoughts, ideas, code snips and even offer downloads of some scripts as well as providing information regarding tech support and development services we have to offer. The new site is located at http://www.nutsnbytes.com/

Calculate yourself into a better future

Sunday, March 25th, 2007 by admin

I was checking out some online Investment Calculators at iloancalculator.com and so now I shall give a bit of a review.

The first I checked out was the simple loan calculator looks very nice at first but after playing with it for a bit it is a bit buggy. The needle graphs seem to be accurate for a moment and then go out of whack. I think once you let go of the slider being dragged they are more accurate. It is excessively difficult to fine-tune the sliders. Say I want to set the term to 48 months, I can get it to 46 or 52 but not right on 48. This would be more easily achieved by using click with mouse while pressing the left or right arrow keys for making smaller adjustments.

The Accelerated Mortgage Payoff Calculator the same as the previous looks great at first but this one seems even worse due to the graphical intensity I believe. While adjusting the sliders in this calculator my mouse cursor disappeared and took a few moments to reappear. As soon as the blue bar images are resized the mouse comes back. This is not something that should be happening on a 3Ghz P4 with 1GB DDR2 memory. I am not able to give any feedback on the accuracy of this calculator due to the issues I have experienced.

Oh and a Become a Millionaire Calculator. That is something I have been drawing out on paper for years. It is very cool to see it for the first time in a graphical chart. Although the same sorts of issues apply with all the calculators I have tried the idea is solid and it will give you a general idea of what you are looking at for each without a doubt. I am assuming they may not be intended. I love the idea and I am sure I will go back to check out some of the other calculators they have.

Best affiliate program I have ever seen

Friday, March 23rd, 2007 by admin

I have come back to make a post about the posts we have made for Pay Per Post. So far we have been making posts for them for just over a month and just the other day payouts started rolling in. Any skepticism I once had is totally gone now. This program works and you should really look into it. It is not by any means a job but if you are looking for extra dough in your pocket this is the thing to do and if you are looking for reviews on products or anything like that you should check it out to.

I have to personally say we are more than happy with Pay Per Post and will continue to post for them for a long time to come. This post is “NOT” a sponsored post. This is my personal opinion and I shall receive nothing for it being here if that doesn’t tell you how happy we are with them nothing will.

Last thoughts before the weekend

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007 by admin

This is entertaining right here. We just received this comment from a user.
Ich finde Ihre Homepage sehr gut und fundiert. Die Informationen helfen mir bei einer Diplomarbeit für den Bereich der Medizinischen Dokumentation vielen Dank und weiter so.

or very roughly translated in english

I find your homepage very good and have found the information helps me with a thesis (diploma) for the range of the medical documentation thank you.

Wow I really hope that this person did not base their thesis or anything on information they found here or they are likely to be very disappointed. I know this is a bot but even still I do not recall ever mentioning anything health related here outside of recommending a drug treatment center one time. Shows just how much thought was put into that I guess.

On another note we have a show this weekend so things may be a bit slow till monday. We have a bunch of editing to finish up and then we are on the road till probably sunday night. Till then everyone enjoy your weekend and check back in a few days and we will tell you how it went.

tales from an unaware spender

Have you ever tried to get a loan? Weather it be a secured loan or an unsecured loan I have yet to try for a few reasons. The first being that I highly doubt that I have a good enough credit rating to get a loan with a reasonable interest rate and to compare loans seems to be more a vision of a nightmare to me.

I have known others who have been able to get loans without a problem with little to no credit but just the same it seems it ends in one loan to pay off another then transfer this balance to that balance in hopes for a better outcome when it is only delaying the inevitable while wracking the overall bill up even higher.

The main reason I am told I would not easily get accepted for a loan is my method in paying bills. I do not like hearing from bill collectors or anything like that so I prepay all my expenses for months and more often years or more at a time. Overall I think that if the person looking to find a loan is already financially stable then it is not a bad idea at all and can do wonders for your credit rating from what I have seen. I think it is something you should weigh out all pros and cons to and come up with detailed budgets as for how you intend to make payments and so on also figuring in things like protection if you become unemployed or otherwise physically incapable of making your payments.

From what I have seen that is a common additional feature you can add in with your loan. It does increase the payments a bit I believe but would surely be worth it in the long run. I think I may look into getting a personal loan just to see if I can kick off some great credit.

Asylum-ET Site Past, Present and future

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007 by admin

I am wondering what is a typical amount of unsolicited commercial traffic for a website to receive. In the past I have viewed all this type of thing just bad overall but now I am thinking that may not be overly true for a few reasons. I am interested in hearing what others have to say about this.

For instance I now have this idea that you can possibly measure a websites popularity by the amount of what we will call “ham” that it receives. I mean why else would someone ham my blog other than they think it is going to get them something. So personally I do not understand what allot of viewers come here for. I totally understand my clients coming here to get information and even the band members and their followers but the latest waves of visitors have been in the thousands and have nothing to do with our original intent.

According to google our highest ranked page is for the elmer fudd search widgit that we have released. That does not surprise me any more but what does strike me as a bit odd is that according to statistics gathered by our site the most common is the sitemap parser for wordpress. That is a great plugin and so many are using it. Total downloads for all versions of it is approaching 800 now.

Here lies the one issue though. Once again I must mention the site structure. Many things are going on here. It is all for the love of entertainment and wanting to continue to provide service as such but the viewer base majority is not here for entertainment so the shift is looking like it is going to be a necessity. We want to continue to provide our original users the same services we have always and now want to include our latest guests and their interests as well.

Back to the issue of how much ham is to much. Asylum Entertainment has been running the website since 2005. The first archive that can be found is Sep 24, 2005. Previous to that it went by the name highvoltageaudio which was the name of the disc jockie service asylum entertainment provided. The earliest archives that can be found of that are Mar 21, 2005 and May 27, 2005.

Since that time we have seen very little for traffic especially when it comes to hamers. Now mid last year we see a good increase in traffic. We hit a max of sum eight hundred thousand hits in a month and never did we see ham. That was surprising at first but since then we have dwarfed that. We now are seeing an average of 100+ ham per day. Our statistics have shown a great increase in viewers though. Take a look at the last three months stats.

A-ET 3 Month Statistics

Even though that does not directly effect us as for our time anymore since we have ham protection it does however cost us in bandwidth and it taxes the service we use to stop ham and we like them. We will monitor it a bit longer and then make a decision if further steps are needed to stop the ham abuse.

Guitar players must check this out. I am going to practice it right now :) Anyway here you go. I am sure you will love it just as much as I do.

Google PR Badge for your website

Monday, March 19th, 2007 by admin

Today I decided to allow the use of our google pr badge to anyone who wants one on their website.
You just include a little bit of html code in your page and it will display your sites pr in an image. The only requirement for using it is that the html code we provide does not get changed. If the code is found to have changed the domain using it will be blocked. You want your friends to know where they got it anyway so they can get one to :)

So now here is where you can find the Free Google Page Rank Badge

Can we borrow a moment of your thought?

Saturday, March 17th, 2007 by admin

We are contemplating a change for Asylum-ET that would be a drastic one. We are thinking that the main page of the site is really just overwhelming with all the links and clutter everywhere.

We are looking for opinions on this and any ideas that you may have as to what would make Asylum-ET easier for you to find what you came for. Our thought is the main page will be a series of image buttons such as forum blog events bands nightlife shop and so on and then a brief description of what each contains will appear when an image is hovered over.

The only issue with that though is it would most definitely require javascript or at least stylesheets to be enabled unless it were done in flash which we would prefer not to use. Javascript and css are incorporated into most browsers used today and typically are enabled by default whereas flash requires downloading and installing 3rd party software before being able to view the site if it isn’t already installed and that is just not acceptable to us.

We do believe flash has it’s place just not on our main page. Most likely we will not use javascript for the main page either and if we do we will alert the viewer that it should be enabled to view the site properly. In any event though we appreciate viewer response so we can make your visit a more pleasurable one.
