Vermont Weapons Law

Saturday, January 27th, 2007 by admin

Today I did a little research on what the law is in regards to buying and selling knives and what I found has little to do with what I wanted to know but I found it a bit disturbing just the same so I feel I must make a post about it. Here is what the Vermont Law Books have to say about carrying weapons in or around schools.

Vermont State Law [Title 13 V.S.A. §4004 and Title 16 V.S.A. §1166] prohibits carrying these or other dangerous or deadly weapons in school or on school grounds. Any student found violating this law shall be referred to the appropriate police authorities. After a due process hearing, a student may also face suspension or expulsion from the CDC. A weapon as defined in Vermont law is “any firearm…device, instrument, material, or substance, whether animate or inanimate, which in the manner it is used or is intended to be used is known to be capable of producing death or serious bodily injury.

Relocating Bris Corner

Thursday, January 25th, 2007 by B.Dirty

So my little blogger is growing up to quick. Awhile back I decided to let her start making posts here and although she has had a few good posts I feel it is time for her to have her very own blog so I am giving her one. I can’t have her blogging here anymore. The girl is getting better ratings than I am. That just isnt right :) Anyway if you like what she has posted so far make sure to take a gander over to her new blog space called Bri’s Corner. If she does good with that then I will have to hook her up with her own domain name but till then we shall see how this goes. So far she has a list of things she wants to right about. She has made a post about issues in school which I thought was a pretty good one considering her age so go ahead and check it out.

What i think about looping classes

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007 by B.Star

Some of you probably have never heard of looping classes but at the Rutland Intermediate School they have them. Looping classes are where you are in a class for two grades in a row with the same teacher studying the same subjects over more…

Are You On?

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007 by admin

Today I found one of the most innovative things that I have seen so far on the web and to top it off they offer this great service for free. It is called R-U-On and here is a list of what they provide.

  • ServerOn – Monitor a server’s health and make sure a it is running
  • OnPing – Monitors hosts on your internal network.
  • ProcessOn – Monitors a list of processes running on your server.
  • OnTouch – Monitors keyboard and mouse inputs to your computer.
  • NetOn – Monitors your internet connection and assure server is on.

You can log into your account from anywhere on the web and check these stats and any warnings that you may have. The real nice thing about it is that the new google sidebar that comes bundled in the Google Pack has a widget that you can use to monitor your stats as well. To get the Google Pack click this banner.

Asylum Entertainment on Last.fm

Monday, January 22nd, 2007 by B.Dirty

Asylum Entertainment has started a record label at Last FM. Currently we have one artist that is promoted by Asylum ET that is utilizing the resources available from Last FM and we encourage others to get signed up with us now while we are waiving the signup fee.

Feel free to check out a few of the bands that we promote and listen to their demos. We don’t hold you to any guidlines as to what type of music you have or anything like that and we have very reasonable rates for cd sales so why are you still reading this.

This offer is only good until 02/15/2007 and is only available to the next 15 bands that signup so don’t wait another moment. Use our vendor signup before it is to late.

The local entertainment scene

Sunday, January 21st, 2007 by B.Dirty

I am coming to you live from the little ole city of Rutland, Vermont otherwise known as Rut Vegas to most of the locals here. It is very hard to find much to do here especially if you are looking for good entertainment. There just is not much to do in this 3 mi. x 3.5 mi. city in the middle of nothing. The economy here is solely funded by the ski season and when there is little to no snow then things tend to go down hill. Hmm. Down hill…. Yea well I guess when the skiers are here they go down hill too. Anyway sorry for the lame humor, it has been a long day.

So you are in Rutland and would like to find some entertainment. Not to much going on. If you are a drinker we can help you for sure. The last time I checked there were 110 bars in Rutland. That is rated the most bars per capita in the United States. No wonder we have so many drunks. Well not everyone is a drunk but you can see that there is nothing else to do here but go out and get drunk for the most part. That makes things overly boring for non drinkers unless you are like myself and get entertainment from watching others get drunk.

As for what there is to do in Rutland for entertainment. Well we have a few good clubs and bars for all walks of life. If you want a small and pleasant atmosphere you may want to try going to the Out of Bounds on State St. I have been there a few more than many times now to watch performances by bands that we sponsor and it is always entertaining even on a slow night. If you are into open mic nights they are the place to be on Wednesday nights. If your idea of entertainment is geared more toward sports you may want to try out Jilly’s on merchants row. If you are looking for real entertainment than you should definitely go up to Killington and check out some of the clubs up there like the Nightspot or Mogul’s.

Other than that if you want entertainment I would suggest renting a hall and hiring asylum entertainment to come and bring the real entertainment. Asylum ET has been around for over 14 years now so you can count on Asylum Entertainment to provide only the most professional and affordable disc jockey service in the area. Just check out what a few of our clients have to say about us in our testimonials page.

Why do you blogg?

Friday, January 19th, 2007 by admin

So I have now been blogging since October of 2006 and since I started I have heard many rumors of things to come with our wonderful government here in the good ol’ US of A and what effect that will have on bloggers and then every citizen here in the states.

I have heard about the issues that have emerged where bloggers and journalists may or may not be viewed as the same thing and that bloggers should not be entitled to the same liberties and freedoms that a journalist has because they have no editor or anyone to answer to. On my blog in particular I have a disclaimer placed that is specific to the fact that what I or any author on the blog says in their posts may or may not be accurate information and users are urged to look into the things that are discussed further if they are interested in it.

Am I a journalist? Well not for any paper that you have ever read before but I am in a sense a journalist for asylum entertainment reporting my opinions and views no matter how far skewed they may be. For over 200 years now that has been all of our right. Not specifically on the web but I would expect the same freedoms that we are entitled to in our own homes be extended to our own websites. I mean I do pay for this site to even be here so what gives. I pay for it as rent on a monthly basis just like I pay rent for my apartment.

So just what will come next? Will we loose the freedom to talk about what we like in our own homes? That leads me to another thing. I have heard rumor that if you say anything that apposes the government’s war effort that you will be arrested for it. Just what is happening to our land of the free? I can sum it up for you. What do you think? Land of the greed. Home of the slave. Sound about right? I do not mean to say that lightly nor am I being racist or specific to any gender. I mean all of you. Every last one of us. If we just sit here as our rights are eroded and do nothing you will find yourself waking up in the movie Judge Dredd where you have to pay a fine for swearing. Just who is it do you think that will define what a swear is anyway?

This is a huge problem folks! Not to many realize the relevance or see it as effecting them so they will do nothing but what is to commonly overlooked is that for every little thing you ignore and allow to become there is fallout that will surely effect cases in the future that have any similarity whatsoever so hold your seats folks we are in for quite a ride here.

So now lets put this all in a nutshell. Is this news? Surely it has some news in it. It isn’t always the news you read about in your local paper. It is quite possible though that it is in fact news to you. Keep speaking out no matter in what form. Stand up for your rights that are handed to you by God above and do not worry about what all the politicians and bureaucrat have to say about it. They are all just moneygrubbers anyway. You are the real people that matter.

Now I ask you to do only one thing. What thoughts do you have about this? Please feel free to tell us why you blog and what your opinions are on this topic. The more voices that are heard the better chance we have of keeping our freedoms.
