In the news

This week there was a large crack down on drug distribution in Barre, VT. They flew a helicopter to show the dealers that they were serious. They made many busts. The newspaper proclaims that this is similar to what went down in Rutland, VT when the lost tostitos came to town. Well the Sleeper called it the most significant single drug operation in his nearly 30-year association with state law enforcement. I don’t know who the sleeper is but that sounds all covert and shit so whatever, moving on.. So what happened here? How many busts were made? What charges came about? How much did it cost to fuel up that helicopter? What message did that really show? Well I have a few opinions.

This is a link to an article on the costs involved with using a helicopter http://www.helis.com/using/cost.php

I can tell you cost per hour figures out to somewhere around $2000+ all I can say is Ouch!

The message is none other than it would have been without the helicopter in my opinion. Two things happened here though. First we did send them a message. Not one to our liking. What we told the dealers is that they need to crack down as well. What are we nuts? In Rutland city with it’s gang activity. The whole thing was something else. I remember the headlines and all. I saved clippings of them all. What else I remember is what actually went down. I see it all unravel before my very own eyes. The papers make mention of the police involvement and how they ran them out of town. Well they definitely were run out of town. The police involvement was great. They came in after a riot broke out were there were local city folk cocktailing a house that harbored this gang and literally running in and physically tearing through the house dragging them out and beating them down. The law enforcement brought peace to the situation with no use of helicopters or much of anything other than a few smart cops with cool tempers. Were there weapons involved? Yes. Many. Now things are different here. The gang is not here. There are people here. Some are in groups. Everyone is suspect. Things are changing folks. I am going to tell you more about it as we go on.
